Old and new

Old and new memories - first time at Olympic Park some years ago, I and my then young daughters relished the experience of swimming in THE Olympic pool.   Today, elder daughter and I went for a quick dip and also experienced the ArcelorMittal Orbit nearby.   The photo of the pool is taken from the Orbit.

Skeleton staff was apparently the reason for the underwhelming Customer Experience we had at the Orbit. Daughter enjoyed the slide, I enjoyed the views and the walk down lots (and lots) of stairs, to the sound of recordings of workers while constructing the tower.  However, I objected to standing queuing in 2 areas for over an hour with no view / information / activity whatsoever, and then being rushed through when there was  finally something to see / do.

Too tip:  If you opt for a video of your descent down the slide, get the video pointing at your face. They offer you the choice, but who wants a 40 second video of their knuckles, eh??  Video of face gives you background too, to show you racing through the tunnel.  Next time ...  (yes, there will be a next time, - thanks to customer service manager's complimentary tickets, as he apologetically agreed with my gripes.)

We topped off our day with an evening trip to Greenwich on DLR (since when did they stop being driverless?

Good, friendly atmosphere in the North Greenwich Pizza Hut, should you ever be passing!
