DOUBLER

The big crabs seem to be a little early this year. This doubler was in one of our oyster crates.A doubler is a mating of mated pair.They are finished and the female crab has a hard shell now. We let her go and kept the male jimmy. We cooked a pot of #1 jimmys tonight and had our own personal crab feast. We cleaned the leftovers and will take them to our old friend Mr. Holden to pick. He makes crab dishes to freeze and share with company during the cold winter months. He choked the other day and spent a few days in the hospital. He has recovered and is working on a new lighthouse.
