Crathes Castle

Another lovely day weatherwise so a last minute decision saw us heading down Royal Deeside to visit Crathes Castle.  The castle is the jewel in National Trust Scotland’s crown in Aberdeenshire.  Definitely the best gardens if not the best castle.  

Only the walled gardens and grounds are open at present so we took a picnic with us which we ate on the Victorian Crescent overlooking the gardens.
