Exciting day today, early birthday celebration for K1 and R with a massage at the Celtic Manor. It's been such a long time since I've had one, testified by the knots and lumps I could feel as the masseuse worked away. Felt good afterwards, not least because the second part of the celebration was lunch at the Newbridge-on-Usk, a short drive away. To crown it all we had a quick game of poohsticks from the bridge, the perfect climax to the day I thought. But there was more, after a quick doze I settled down for a marathon session of Lord of the Rings (The Two Towers) extended version with the cut scenes that explained so much that was missing from the cinema release. What a way to spend a day.
