Free Country

On any walk, town or country, I am very aware of the 'private' nature of our 'free' country manifested in the plethora of signs plastered here, there and everywhere. This is one such but one which I am happy to endorse. It adorns the wooden fence surrounding an old and deep water-filled quarry in Swithland Woods. I like the patterns in the wooden slats - and perhaps as a picture it should be cropped in but I wanted to include the sign's context. I liked it's slightly unusual 'verticality' in sympathy with it's surroundings.

A couple of extras were taken looking the other way!
