Embracing the Weeds in My Life

Dear Diary,

Every year I would pull out the Field Bindweed behind the arbor but this year I gave up.  It has such pretty pink flowers and since it just stays in one place I let it go this summer.  I don't seem to have the energy or the motivation to battle with it.  While most of the garden is basically weed free, an occasional culprit escapes me.  When I looked it up it said,  "although it is an attractive flower, it is considered a persistent and noxious weed."  That's a little harsh!  I've always been a champion of the underdog and the maligned.  At least for this summer, the bindweed can stay.
