Rowan and honeysuckle

I was on Oswestry Racecourse again today as it was the first meeting of the birdwatching group since Lockdown. It was at the same place as the photography group went, quite a coincidence. It shows what a great place it is!

There were eight of us and we saw and heard lots of birds.  Most were too far away for photographs unfortunately but I caught a few goldfinches from a flock of several dozen (extra), they were feeding on seedheads by the ruins of the old grandstand.

The rowan berries are looking beautiful at the moment and I particularly liked this tree with honeysuckle growing through it.

We got half way round when it started to pour with rain so we cut our visit short.  It has rained solidly all afternoon so we were lucky to get a walk before the downpour.
