Atmospheric Railway

The theme this week is Long Exposure. 16 Seconds in this case. I've done this shot many times in the past, but this is the first time with a ten stop (Zomei) filter on the camera. It makes composing the shot and focusing quite tricky as you really can't see much through the viewfinder, but it does allow for a much longer daytime exposure. Bottom line is that the express train appears to be twice as long!

You can also see the newly created sea wall at Dawlish designed to protect the railway from extreme waves. They really don't want it falling into the sea again! I got my timing wrong as it wasn't high tide, the sea wasn't that rough and after packing up due to rain I then missed the next train going through a rainbow.
