Walls and doors

Ireland day 7

Woke up to a pretty overcast morning, so the dilemma was do we hibernate in the cottage or do we brave the weather. Mr PC says let’s go anyway - so with raincoats ,umbrellas and lunch packed we headed out.

As we had already done some of the Ring of Kerry on Sunday, we headed to Killorglin to do the anti clockwise route.

Killorglin is famous for its pagan festival the Puck fair (a statue of King Puck - a goat - stands on the north side of the river.)

As the weather came in again we carried on along the Kerry way until we reached  the town of Cahersiveen from here you can take a short ferry ride over to Valentia Island and as you now couldn’t see a foot in front of you we gave it a miss and decided  to walk around the town instead.

As scenery was lacking today we made the most of the wall art and old doorways.

After our picnic lunch (sitting in the car park) we made the decision to abort the rest of the trip and headed home as by now the fog was an official pea-souper .

Oh well we are still on our holidays and in the words of Captain Tom “Tomorrow will be a good day”

Huge thanks for following our trip and all your lovely comments, they are appreciated.
