An atmospheric resting place

Highgate cemetery in North London is an old, huge and sprawling place. It is divided by a narrow road into the east and west sides. The west side is the oldest and until recently it was difficult to visit as it was considered dangerous (old and crumbling headstones and tombs and subsidence), it has now been opened to the public on a timed entry and is an interesting place to wander around. M and l went the other morning, l spoke to several guides who were dotted about and would go on a guided tour another day as there are many interesting people inside and lots of symbolism which l will have missed.
I will process the photos over the next few days so look away if it is not your thing.
