............Motueka to Wellington

A cool start to a sunny Spring day made the drive from home in Motueka to Picton which is the departure point for ferries between the North and South Islands of NZ a pleasure.

This photo was taken nearing Picton. A quick stop as the temperature was dropping and it was decidedly cool.

The extra was taken from the lookout above the port which offers a charming view along the sounds and the arrival of the Bluebridge ferry - our transport across the Cook Strait.

Because of Covid level two restrictions passenger numbers are reduced with suitably marked spacing on the floor and seats - lots of large red crosses and signs “please don’t sit here”. The wearing of masks isn’t mandatory on these ferries, unlike commuter city ferries, buses and trains.

The sun sets close to 6pm so the sailing has been shrouded in darkness.

Thank you for the comments, stars and hearts for yesterday’s blip. My apologies for lack of time and lack of visit to your journals at the present time.
