Bee Gees

You probably have to be a blipper of a certain age to remember the Bee Gees. I discovered today that Robin Gibb spent the last 29 years of his life in Thame, the little market town where I do my weekly shop.  His grave is a mini-shrine.

The first extra is the 19th century gatehouse of his magnificent 16th century manor house, which you can't see across the inner courtyard.  It's surrounded by a Saxon moat and was previously The Prebendal where the Bishop of Lincoln trained new priests.

The second extra is the team hard at work in the newly refurbished and extended kitchen at the Mash Inn where we had an 11 course dinner last night.  Each course was a tiny mouthful of something exquisitely delicious.  It was a day to celebrate because a British judge ruled that MrHCB and I are indeed married.  We got married in South Africa very many years ago but the South African legal system is fairly chaotic and never issued the necessary document.  We produced all the proof we had, including wedding photos, to a British judge, and now we finally have a piece of paper saying that we are married :-)
