We went out late this afternoon to pick sloes. We might be sans famille this Christmas, so glugging sweet gin mixtures might be just the ticket – done responsibly, of course.
But of course we had to have a go at finding more blackberries as the estate we visited has loads of brambles. Some were still loaded with berries, mostly the small sort with large segments, but there were some decently sized ones available. They always seem to be the furthest away, guarded by thorny branches like this one . . .
