wild & precious life

Gratitude

Day spent in Jesmond, screen working from the work building.
For my extended lunch break, I ate a Subway in St George's church garden looking up at the church spire which is modelled on a C13 Venetian Campanile (see extra).
The church was open which felt amazing after all these months! They had the great idea of opening certain pews and leaving laminated notes ("you are welcome to sit here") which you are asked to turn over upon using a pew ("please do not sit here as someone else has used this pew today"). This alerts the church stewards to the fact that that pew needs to be cleaned too.
What a beautiful, peaceful church. Nothing is taken for granted anymore!I really liked the statue of St George slaying the dragon too (extra).

My daughter returned this evening from another trip away visiting friends in Matlock. She brought us a delicious Bakewell tart from the original bakery in Bakewell.
