On guard duty!

Walking round the Heritage Park this morning I spotted these herons standing in a nearby field.

I climbed over one fence and crossed over the path .... the second fence was made of barbed wire to keep the cattle and sheep from straying, not that there were any there today, so I just got as close to the fence as I could.

Herons are more obliging than many birds and they do stand still for ages.
