Hunebed : a Neolithic tomb...

Today we made a tour around 5 hunebeds. A hunebed is a Neolithic tomb, built between 3400 & 3100 BC. A hunebed is a burial chamber with walls, a roof and an entrance. The tombs were originally covered  with a mound of earth from which only the large “capstones” protruded. Nowadays there are only the big stones. There a 54 hunebeds in the Netherlands, all in the northern part of the Netherlands. This is hunebed D18… @ Rolde, Drenthe, the Netherlands
