Had a trip to West Kilbride today in bright sunshine.  Temperatures of 18C which is pretty good for us at this time of year.  We saw Portencross Castle and it just had to be my blip.  It was built mid 14th century, and was in use until 1739 when it was unroofed by a storm and became ruinous.  But a very picturesque ruin.

We do like our historic ruins!

On another note, we had a first yesterday (as far as we know)..... a Sparrowhawk blasted into our suburban garden and straight out again, not time to get a picture, and it was due to the HG's sharp eyes that we actually even saw it.  There were two little tits at the feeders, and they stayed very still, I can tell you!
