Air Sea Rescue

We had booked the hotel at Porlock Weir for my birthday in April but because of Lockdown it was delayed so we arrived today and loved it . Our room looked out over the harbour and had its own sitting area with two comfy chairs and a view out to sea .
In the evening I noticed a helicopter moving over the bay with a beam then all the coastguard vehicles arrived in the car park . Next thing there were two lifeboats zooming across the bay and an operation took place using the helicopter beam . We heard some women shrieking in the car park ‘ they’ve found them ‘ ! 
It was two kayakers who had gone out in the evening and the offshore wind had taken them out to sea - a third kayaker raised the alarm - thank goodness it was a happy ending.
