Alone

Between Wrose and Idle there's a semi-rural part of Bradford, Idle Moor,  with great views back across the Aire valley to Baildon and the moors.

There are some wonderful street/road names here. High Busy Lane was a little further along but this combination of All Alone Road  and Starting Post caught my eye. And of course having the opportunity to include a George VI wall box is always bonus.

I was on the return leg of a six mile loop walk across to Eccleshill United where Bradford City Women were hosting Doncaster Rovers Belles in a pre-season friendly (extra).

Donny Belles are one of the famous names in women's football being twice league champions and six time winners of the FA Women's Cup. More recently they've fallen victim to the restructuring of the women's game which has favoured those clubs associated with successful men's teams - they're now in the fourth tier, the same as City, but in the Midland rather than Northern Division 1.

A couple of early goals for Donny made it look like it would be very one sided but City pulled one back just before half-time and it became a much more even game. Finally, a converted direct free kick made it 1-3 and sealed the game for Donny.
