Mono Monday: Over and Under

I spotted these two walking through the centre of Bath this morning, each with a chair on their heads, carrying the third chair between the two of them.  I hastily parked the car, grabbed the camera and scooted up the road, leaving Cathy behind,  in the hope that I could find them.  I eventually managed to catch up with them, just as they put the third chair down to take a breather.  They were happy to have their picture taken, and I didn't hang about as the poor chap on the right looked as though he was really beginning to suffer.

I suspect that they are students at Bath Uni and probably picked up the 3 chairs at a bargain price, but being poor students without a car they then had to carry their bargains some way across the centre of town to wherever they are living.

It seemed a perfect subject for this week's Mono Monday challenge from Black Tulip :-)

While not a complete surprise the number of closed, shuttered or empty units in Bath today demonstrates the economic change that has overtaken us. A significant number of restaurants, cafes and retail units that we might once have visited are no more.  But we are as much to blame as anyone, this is the first time we have both been into Bath together since February.  Bath is quite a small place and can get very crowded, even with the reduced number of tourists that we've had this year, and Cathy and I no longer feel comfortable in places that are crowded, or even moderately busy.
