Bamburgh Castle, Northumberland

We are spending a few days up in the North East of England in the delightful town of Alnwick. It is an area bristling with castles, all of them so photogenic. A Norman castle, Bamburgh Castle, spans the centuries with a history dating back over 1400 years. It sits 150 feet above the sea in the sand dunes and from the beach is very imposing.
