St Martin's Church

Today being Shrove Tuesday I made pancakes for breakfast and planned on taking photos of some pancakes - however, the usual mad rush to get to school got in the way, the pancakes were eaten too quickly, and so I had to think of something else for my journal.

Another church is not really linked to Shrove Tuesday except that today is the last day before the season of Lent starts, which is a religious period in the Catholic church calendar (yet this is an Anglican church!)

This is St Martin's church in East Horsley, a Grade II listed church with a Saxon tower. Much of the church was renewed in 1869 by Lord Lovelace, and you can see the generous use of flint in the building, as he was rather partial to the use of flint and the village is consequently famous for all its flint buildings.
