Getting the sparkle back

Not a handsome prince

Nor a handsome frog either, but I thought he was a handsome toad and was fine as just that. I spotted him (could have been her of course) on the Stobo walk with T, which we both enjoyed greatly. The weather was better than forecast with a lot of sun and it was lovely to be out with so few other people about - we met a group of four people and a couple and saw another couple in the distance. It was also memorable for there being a large number of butterflies, mostly peacock and red admiral, and lots of young pheasants changing into their adult plumage, no doubt to be shot at when the season opens on 1st October. There was no livestock on the upland parts of the walk although the heather was being managed for grouse. Maybe raising sheep isn't worth it if you can charge people enough to shoot grouse. We did see sheep on the lower parts of the walk with the lambs keeping together as twins although now almost as big as their mothers. We also saw a pretty flower which T later identified as Grass-of-Parnassus which clearly isn't a grass.
