Ardnamurchan Point Lighthouse

Another massive breakfast at the B and B in Acharacle. Met an elderly couple from Gloucester and a strange woman who came into the breakfast room through it to the conservatory and closed the door on us then when us and the couple were discussing everything closed on a Monday in Acharacle she decided to come in and but in to the conversation. She said her bit then went back and the. When we were discussing how on a Sunday ferries never used to run on the Islands up she got from her table once again, opened the door and spoke about the Ten Commandments! She was also of the hang the face covering round your chin brigade! Ugh

It was wet when we left heading up through single track roads with passing places (meeting a lorry at one stage) towards the most westerly point in the British mainland, Ardnamurchan point. Rain cleared enough for us to walk around. Stopped off in the very good Cafe/gift shop for coffee and scone.

Today we drove to Glenfinnan. Ardnamurchan is beautiful with lots of oak woods and Scots pines. We saw red squirrel, black goats and plant sheep on the roads. It would be good to see it in better weather. It’s crazy that yesterday was absolutely beautiful and today was like driving through a rainforest.

Was recommended to have dinner at the Glenfinnan House Hotel which sits on The head of the very long Loch Shiel surround by mountains. What a meal. And the hotel was beautiful.
