Ammerleite

Hey ho, another birthday, another year bites the dust. So what to do? Go hiking of course! And off we went down towards Saulgrub for a wander ‘In der Wilden Ammerleite’ as it says in the book. Does the book mention a 250m climb straight up a hill or the 250m straight back down? Of course not. Does it mention the next 250m climb? Of course not. Does it mention the fantastic views though, the wonderful waterfall, or the old mill at the half-way point? Yes it does! And the great trails through forests and over meadows? Yes! So all in all a terrific afternoon, six hours on the go and only one wrong turn - which unfortunately meant another vertical climb but never mind, we found a great spot in the forest for lunch and an easier route back down.
Back home we headed straight out again into town before the muscles seized up. A few beers and a flammkuchen at Blu rounded things off nicely. What a grand day out!!
