Christmas?????? Rose

This Helleborus niger (commonly known as Christmas Rose) is blooming a wee bit too early! Somebody needs to tell it that there's still more than three months to go until Christmas. I'm still hoping for quite a few good gardening days before we hunker down for winter. So far, September hasn't been very cooperative and the past week has been a bit breezy and damp. As I write this I can hear the too familiar sound of the rain drumming on the sun room roof.
