Michaelmas Daisy

You can tell that Autumn is on its way when the Michaelmas Daisies are in full bloom.  The Speckled Wood butterflies were out in force today in the warm sunshine.  They rarely stay still for a photo, and when they do they are well camouflaged (extra).

We went to a lovely concert in a local church today.  A composer/conductor and his soprano wife were tired of having nowhere to perform.  So they have started a mini-festival in their village church, and invited all their local friends to perform.  Today it was Paul Lewis (if any of you are classical music fans, you will know that he is one of the world's best pianists).  He said it was the first time he had performed for an audience since March and he was nervous.  He was of course spectacularly good in piano sonatas by Haydn and Mozart.  The audience in the church was about 50.  Only 2 or 3 people who came together in each pew, sitting at alternate ends, all wearing masks, and filing in and out slowly and well-spaced.  The festival continues for a few more weeks and I will try to remember my camera or at least my iPhone next time.
