Gardening “on trend”

If the media are to be believed young people have “discovered” gardening during lockdown and are embracing all things earthy.

This is great news. Let hope their enthusiasm lasts.

Certainly the national Open Gardens scheme for charity needs an influx of young blood.

There has been a trend, certainly in our area, for new houses to be built with minimal gardens because with two people working full time and small children they had no time for gardening.

Bu the pandemic  and people working from home has changed all that.

According to an architect friend the demand now is for homes with space for an office, a gym and a garden.

Photo: our patio in full bloom , yes I know some people are snooty about begonias regarding these showy flowers as “vulgar”.
But I like them.
