Mystery Crane

This morning, this enormous crane appeared in the middle of Washington Street.  It has a very, very long arm!  We can't figure out what it is needed for, other than it seems to involve something on the roof of the Macy's department store (on the right side of the street).  Maybe they plan to start work tomorrow ... nothing other than its presence seems to have happened today.
