Life of a bubble maker

Doomed

Working from home today so we can get away on time to go to the lakes. This meant I could take Kilda for a run in the gardens before work. Nice walk and caught up with the same people I saw everyday during lockdown when I took her. Also noticed that this tree seems to have been identified for removal I assume. Finished on time and had a quick stop at Go Outdoors to by a map for the weekend on our way to the lakes. On the way down our upstairs neighbough’s daughter phone to say the back gate wasn’t working and they couldn’t get their car out. Told them about the manual override if they could get in the garage. Knowing them they will leave the gate wide open so anyone can see into the garden when they go. Arrived at Whinfell campsite to utter chaos. The campsite was a shambles and just a couple of fields really with no allocated pitches. The owner was incompetent as he didn’t know where to put anyone as most of the fields were water logged. There was also a large group of your kayakers there for the weekend who had pinched all the good spots. Just after we arrived another family turned up and were shocked as well. Finally the owner tried to put us in his garden, where we shouldn’t have been, as it was the only place we might be able to get in. After trying and getting nowhere due to the mud we gave up and went to tell him We were then faced with his wife repeatedly swearing at the top of her voice with the other family in front of their young son and threatening to call the police. Good job she didn’t as the place wasn’t covid friendly with no precautions taken in the shared areas and too many people on the site to keep social distancing. This was the final straw and we left and headed home. Stopped off at some friends in Penrith for a coffee and chat and managed to get home just after midnight.
