The Lundy Eye

Pillars of the past

Cranes always make for a good snap. These ones are no exception.
I was passing through Greenock and noticed them pointing into the sky at Kingston Quay, formerly a heavy shipbuilding area but now a modern housing development.
It used to be that you could drive the length of Greenock and Port Glasgow and never see the sea because of the big shipyard walls.
Now people living in the new houses get excellent views across the Firth of Clyde.
These cranes are a reminder of the town's past industrial glories.
