TM tackled the leylandii hedge yesterday and finished it today. Thank goodness that job is done, it gives me the hab-dabs watching him up the ladder with the cutter.

 The clippings are no good for anything, as far as we know, so this afternoon we took them to the tip in Hawick. 

It seemed a shame to miss the chance of a walk by the river. Perhaps it wasn't strictly necessary to have an ice-cream  - but the sun was shining, and this might be the last warm day of the year.

 Watching a dipper was the final treat of the day.
