Two Birds

My after lunch walk along the Cooks River meant I sadly missed the staff meeting via Zoom. Instead I watched a royal spoonbill fly across the river and join an ibis grubbing for food along the water’s edge. Together they waded as far as the Canterbury Rd bridge, then turned and headed back downriver. The river is tidal, exposing mud flats and mangrove roots when it’s low - and pollution, mainly plastic.

Thanks for hosting Cailleach and Freyjad.
