Quarantine day 2 - The Mayflower

Today’s quarantine blip is of a lamp made from a Plymouth gin bottle. Particularly apt today, since it is the 400th anniversary of the setting sail of the puritans on the Mayflower from Plymouth heading to the Colony of Virginia.

The moment the Pilgrims stepped ashore was described by William Bradford, the second Governor of the Plymouth Colony:

‘Being thus arrived in a good harbour and brought safe to land, they fell upon their knees and blessed the God of heaven, who had brought them over the vast and furious ocean, and delivered them from all the perils and miseries thereof, again to set their feet on the firm and stable earth, their proper element’.

Have a good day all.
