Chip Chip And Weet Weet

Both of these birds betrayed their positions to me by their calls. The female great spotted woodpecker shouted, "Chip, chip" from the top of the willow by the lake. The chiffchaff tweeted, "Weet, weet" from a blackthorn bush. Ollie dog and I walked at Holyfield Farm this afternoon and I heard a chiffchaff calling its name for the first time in months.
