Cathedral

This is W.'s favorite section of the W&OD trail, where the tall straight trees come together like the long nave of a cathedral. It's a beautiful shady place to walk or run or bike. We walked there from Hamilton Station in the evening, and then I returned to the car and W. ran the rest of the way home.

Earlier today I went on my first bike ride today since the spring, as it's cooler. The trail (a different section closer to home) was peaceful and quiet with the only sounds being my gasping lungs the crickets and some straggling cicadas since it's a bit muggy again. Lots of goldenrod and masses of orange jewelweed. 

We were forecast to get some rain from Sally, but that seems to have dissipated after a mere sprinkle. Hope the west coast gets much more tonight!
