Stop the Cull

I was surprised to see demonstrators outside an entrance to Bushy Park today, opposite Hampton Court. They are demonstrating against the deer cull which takes place at this time of year in the Royal Parks to control the populations of deer. Both red and fallow deer are culled. The deer are sold to a game dealer and the venison is sold and the proceeds are used for the welfare of the herds.
One of the posters advocates the use of a contraceptive called GonaCom which is apparently being trialled in the U.S but is not licensed for use in the U.K. I looked it up and the way it works is to produce antibodies to sex drive hormones in the deer causing them to lose interest in mating!
