Silhouette in the mist

The weather forecast was for mist to clear by 7am. True to form for BBC weather it hung on till the afternoon. So the morning walk was murky, sun only breaking through at the top of the hill. Sound in the woods was muffled too.

Quite a few trees up here are dead or dying, mostly elms for the usual fungal reasons, some just extremely old. Many have a beauty all of their own, like this one. The contrast with the mist shows best in black and white.
