Rude carrots

As ever, today is laundry day. And it’s been a lovely sunny day. I have been sorting out the raspberry patch, it’s been covered in weeds this year with the canes all higgledy piggledy so today we had a tidy up. In passing I pulled up some carrots. I have been munching through these for some time and today I pulled up two deformed ones. This happens when the carrot root hits any sort of obstruction. I had sieved all the earth for growing carrots so some obstacles must have sneaked through. I have picked some broccoli as this is starting to bolt, so dinner will feature a clean sweep of home grown veg as Mr D dug up some more potatoes.
