Glenfinnan

We had a good night's sleep in our tent, then set off adventuring.

First we had a brief look around Inverlochy Castle, and by chance were able to watch the Jacobite steam train heading out of Fort William.

Next we headed up to Neptune's Staircase on the  Caledonian Canal.  From there we biked right down to the sea lock, then all the way up to Loch Lochy - that's the first man-made stretch of the canal from sea to natural loch.  This 27km ride was CyclopsJnr's longest to date, aided by a well surfaced towpath and fairly flat route - see also Big Bike Ride.

Nest we headed up to Glenfinnan to see the monument and viaduct.  Once again by chance we were there just in time to see the Jacobite steam north along the viaduct on its second journey of the day!  CyclopsJnr enjoyed scrambling around the rocky outcrops at the viewpoint.

After that, we headed back to camp and played some frisbee before Cyclops cooked dinner while CyclopsJnr played with his friends again.  Fruit Cocktail for pudding by popular demand.

CyclopsJnr was off to bed quite early - clearly worn out!
