Coccinellidae ...

..or just Ladybirds. According to Google the name Ladybird originated in Britain where they became known as Our Lady's Bird. In early paintings the BVM was often depicted wearing a red cloak. The spots of the 7 spot ladybird, the most common in Europe, were said to depict her 7 joys and 7 sorrows. I didn't manage to count the spots on this pair. They had found a comfortable patch to do what ladybirds do and I left them to it. We collected a large bag of blackberries on our wander. It has been a beautiful warm Autumn day.
