newly opened - face towards the sky - beaming in the sunlight - this is one of those hybrids - i had no clue existed - until this year - i had only thought of - sunflowers in terms - of the big yellow faces - i’d typically see - along the roadside - when i was growing up - towering over fences - smiling down from their - 6 foot plus height
