Formakin House

This is the gatehouse entrance of the house in rural Renfrewshire. Commonly known as the monkey house with stone monkeys standing on rooftops it was designed and built for a wealthy Paisley textile magnate in the early 20thC by Robert Lorimer an eminent architect. Extensive grounds designed in the Gertrude Jekyll style. After falling into disrepair it was restored in the 1980s into a number of stylish luxury apartments.
