Mono - age and youth

Rather a rubbish start to the week that I don't expect to get any better...

Today's mono is a young sunflower plant that is actually nearing the end of its life as it will soon produce baby flowers in the form of more sunflower seeds, whence the plant came from in the first place.

It's actually just this flower from a few days ago, but turned into a mono image. As I said then the birds must have knocked a seed out of the feeder, not spotted it and it has germinated and grown almost directly under the bird feeder. There is another one next to it, and while it's mild where we are, they don't have a lot of summer left to complete their life cycle...
