Aonach Mòr

As there was a good forecast for Wednesday we decided to go to Skye and attempt an ascent of Sgùrr Dubh Mòr, our last Munro in the Cuillins. The weather was fine as we left Edinburgh but it was decidedly damp when we stopped for lunch near Pitlochry. It was warm and bright as we went towards Spean Bridge and I took this blip looking up to Aonach Mòr from the road just east of the village. There are still a couple of snow patches just below the cloud, and they may survive until the first proper snows of next winter. As we travelled, the weather deteriorated to low cloud and drizzle and it was much cooler on Skye. However it cleared by 22:00 and all looked set for the morning. I’ll take a few days to catch up with back blips.

Best on black.
