Aiming for the Arrow

It was pouring with rain this morning when we went to collect a new bed bed for the cat from a local store.  The bed turned out to be twice the size of the one we already have but the cat doesn't seem to object!  He is being a little more sociable these days.

This shot was taken close to Forge Mill Museum in Redditch and is of a waterway which fed the original mill and eventually meets up with the River Arrow a little further on.  (Locals, please correct me if this is wrong!)  I thought it was very pretty even in the deluge.

In Victorian times, this area produced 90% of the world's needles.  Forge Mill started as an iron forge and then in 1730 it was converted to making needles - needle scouring as it was called - a job performed by blacksmiths.  The needles were in demand worldwide.  I think the production of needles here stopped in about 1958.

Forge Mill is now a museum including the history of the needle in the area. I hope we will be able to visit it one day soon.

Little Louie has been moved out of Intensive Care and into the Special Care Nursery at the hospital and he is getting lots of cuddles from Mommy and Daddy.

Great Grandad's shingles continue to be a problem mainly with pain and lack of movement in his left arm.  We are hoping that the new tablets will help with that eventually.  He is finding eating and cutting food very difficult.
