A day of contrasts.

Most obvious was the massive fall in temperature from Monday when with friends I was sitting in their garden in the evening until after 9 p.m. Today the out door thermometer barely registered 11C at mid day and that was before taking the windchill into account. I managed a walk by the river before the heavy and persistent rain arrived late afternoon and under the tree canopy the foliage was a verdant green. Not so the Horse Chestnut tree, closeby but not so protected - see extra where the leaves are well on the turn.
