Abandoned

We usually find a little nest in the acer outside the kitchen window at the end of the season, but this one had five eggs in it. Sad really.
It rained all day today, and I even thought of lighting the woodburner, but thought better of it. It's just been cleaned, and I didn't want to get it all dirty and used again!
