Candle snuff fungus.

I can just imagine when you saw the image you thought what on earth is that. It is a fungus that looks like the burned wick of a candle. Hence the name. It is quite zoomed so the actual size is the same as an ordinary candle wick.
Autumn is here. It's time for fungi to grow.
