Sun broke through

Another soggy grey day.
We spent the morning fixing some plaster 'leaf enrichments' around the stove openings. Small details bought in a vain attempt at bringing a touch of the 'Victorian' back into the old place. It spent the first 110 years as a pub, then 20 years as offices with upstairs flats before becoming a house in the early 80's. It never really has been a Victorian house in the traditional sense but it's nice to hint at its historic roots.
Anyway job done I decided I had to get out to the riverside regardless of the grey and damp outside. It was very quiet, just 3 fishermen in the 5 or 6 mile walk. One reason why I can't be too upset about the end of summer, it leaves the river to just us few nutters. And the sun broke through in the end.
